Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

Kansas Alliance for Drug Endangered Children is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all citizens, including individuals with disabilities. This project is supported by Grant No. 2022-15PBJA-22-GG-04475-COAP awarded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), and as such, we prioritize providing an inclusive digital experience that meets federal accessibility mandates.

Standards & Conformance

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and the Section 508 standards of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

To maintain these standards, we have implemented the following:

  • Semantic HTML: Using proper heading structures and ARIA labels to ensure compatibility with screen readers.
  • Keyboard Navigability: Ensuring all site features and navigation can be accessed without the use of a mouse.
  • Contrast & Readability: Maintaining a minimum color contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for all text and interactive elements.
  • Alt Text: Providing descriptive alternative text for all meaningful images.

Ongoing Efforts & Feedback

Accessibility is an ongoing process. We perform regular manual testing and use industry-standard evaluation tools to identify and remediate barriers.

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you encounter any barriers or have difficulty accessing any part of this site, please contact us:

  • Email: info@kadec.org
  • Response Time: We aim to respond to accessibility inquiries within 3 business days and will work to provide the information you need in an alternative format if necessary.
