Partner With Us
The Kansas Alliance for Drug Endangered Children facilitates affiliates and grantees in over two dozen counties across Kansas. These partners work directly with affected children and families in their local communities to bring attention, resources, and people together for positive change.
When communities align around children’s safety and well-being, stronger systems follow.
County Affiliates
Our county-level DEC alliances bring first responders, educators, professional and family caregivers, and government agencies together. These collaborations help provide children:
- Continuity of care between service providers
- More accessible resources
- Greater public awareness of the risks associated with familial substance misuse
County DEC boards also create Memorandums of Understanding between government agencies that formalize inter-agency processes to better help children and keep families together whenever safely possible.
Partner Organizations
Our partner organizations include non-profits, companies, PTOs, civic clubs, and community groups working to build a better world for children. Many hands make light work, and the more people and organizations alongside us, the more effective our efforts can be.
How you participate is up to you and your imagination. Across Kansas, partnerships take many forms:
- Live Well Crawford County expanded its youth vaping prevention programming, Catch My Breath, throughout their local school district, allowing them to educate about the harms of vaping, including nicotine and cannabis.
- High Point Advocacy in Colby developed programming to raise awareness of drug endangered children in schools throughout Colby County, including PSAs and community events.
- Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation hosts distribution events providing cabinet locks, medication lock bags, NARCAN, and fentanyl test strips to help families create safer environments for children.
Grantees
In 2024, KADEC was privileged to offer funding for community projects meeting the needs of children and families impacted by substance use disorders. We’re proud of the more than two dozen grantees currently running impactful programs across Kansas. These grantees include county health department case workers, community policing officers, and social workers serving families with compassion and dedication.
Volunteer
Our work in communities with drug endangered children is strengthened by volunteers who care deeply about the well-being of children and families. Volunteers are critical, helping to raise awareness, create and support local initiatives, and strengthen community connections.
There is no “one right way” to approach the issue of drug endangered children. There are many ways to contribute, and every effort matters.
